About Me
I was drawn to the visual world when I was in elementary school. After dinner, when the dishes were done and the food was put away, my family would gather around the television for an evening of entertainment and comraderie. I, on the other hand, would sit at the dining room table alone and draw. I never showed my drawings to anyone; I just did this for my own enjoyment. One evening my dad came into the dining room to see what I was doing all alone every evening. When he saw my drawings he took some of them to show my mother. My mom was herself an artist, adept at dressmaking, knitting, and all types of needlework. When my dad returned to the dining room he asked me if I wanted to take an art class. I was immediately clutched with fear. An art class? That was real art! I couldn’t do that. Nevertheless that summer when school was out I found myself in a “real” art class. From then on I never looked back. I continued making and studying art and eventually graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute with a Master of Fine Arts degree with a focus on painting.
Since then I have incorporated my love of painting with photography and textiles. I paint many of my own fabrics as well as hand paint black and white photographs. I have exhibited my work in many venues and won numerous awards.
Welcome to my website. I hope you enjoy my work.
